Before the needle
Before.
The sitting is paced to you. Arriving rested and fed is the only preparation that matters, and identification is not optional.
How to arrive
-
i.
Sleep and eat. Sleep the night before. Eat before you arrive. Drink water for two days. No alcohol for twenty-four hours.
-
ii.
What to wear. Clothing that leaves the placement bare, and nothing you cannot sit still with. Loose layers help once the work is covered.
-
iii.
Identification. Eighteen or older, with government-issued identification in hand. There are no exceptions, and no consent form changes this.
-
iv.
If this is your first. It is slower than the films. We talk first. The stencil is placed on you, not on paper, and moved until it sits where it belongs. The needle is closer to a vibration than a cut, and you may rest, breathe, or stop.
A full medical and consent form comes before the appointment. This page is not that form, and nothing here is a diagnosis. If something about your skin, medication, or health should change the day, write before you travel.
